Kilkenny Town, County Kilkenny
County Kilkenny takes its name from the Irish Cill Chainnigh, meaning Church (Cill) of Canice. It is from there, in the wonderful medieval city of Kilkenny, that local guide Kevin Higgins brings you along the scenic River Nore valley towards a once bustling milling village, where falx and flour where produced by the local populace for export worldwide. Kevin also shows us the magnificence of Kilkenny Castle, the apex of medieval building and the seat of the Butler family in the 13th Century.
Enjoy rambling walks, with Kevin as your local guide, through the abundant and lush countryside of the South-East of Ireland.
